    What is the programme about?
    Eventbrite - Animation, Creative Media, Game Art & Design CAO Portfolio & Information Day at LIT Clonmel
    In this programme you will learn how to create and develop high quality digital content for the visual effects and 3D animation industry. you will develop your artistic and technical abilty to produce world-class 3D content.

    This course has been developed by ex-industry professionals who have worked for internationally renowned studios like Double Negative (Inception, The Dark Knight, Blade Runner), Brown Bag Films and Screen Scene and will prepare you for an exciting career in the industry both nationally and internationally.

    A Portfolio is also required. Applicants will be accepted to Year 1 of the programme based on a combination of Leaving Certificate/QQI FET/FETAC results and Portfolio Assessment. The Portfolio will be scored out of 600 with a minimum score of 240 required to pass. ​

Learn from industry practitioners - Lecturers on the programme at LIT LSAD Clonmel have worked across industry as lead animators, game artists, visual-effects leads, special-effects artists, video editors, and animation directors. This includes working on animation, game and film titles such as Granny O’Grimm’s Sleeping Beauty, The Octonauts, Thor, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010), Paul (2011) & John Carter (2012) and Tom Clancy's The Division (2016).

    2. Learn in a creative, friendly and modern environment with state of the art equipment, software and online learning materials – students have access to over 125 PC & iMac workstations, a 2000 sq ft creative media studio, DSLR cameras, HD Video Cameras, drawing tables, Apple and Android tablet devices, an on-site audio recording studio, MIDI equipment and a video green screen. Students are also provided with access to leading animation and creative media software including the full Adobe CS Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Flash, Illustrator, Audition, Premier Pro, etc), Zbrush, Final Cut Pro X, Unity Pro, Toon Boom Harmony, Maya, Houdini, Nuke, 3D Studio Max, Reaper, etc. In addition, all students are provided with Lynda.com accounts which allows always-on access to self-directed learning materials.

    3. Ireland Visual Effects and Animation sectors are currently booming, with Irish visual effects and CG animation companies winning awards at international level. Companies across the sector are rapidly expanding and there are lots of real and exciting opportunities for graduates with the right blend of artistic and technical skills​
