Programme Description | | This programme provides a grounding in the processes employed in the construction sector, upon completion it provides the graduate with the competencies to enter employment at technician level and also provides an ideal platform for progression to further study. This is a unique programme with up to 60% of timetabled hours devoted to "hands-on" practical activities in state of the art industrial type workshops. Following an induction period at the start of year one the student will select one of the following specialisms: a) Wood Technology; b) Masonry or c) Plasterwork. Site Practice and Workshop Practice for the chosen specialism are then studied over the two years. |

Jobs Include: | | Construction technicians are involved at every stage of the construction process from the planning stages through the final completion, these include newly built projects and the maintenance and refurbishment of existing structures incorporating Heritage and Conservation work.
Graduate Technicians may perform a role of assistant in a range of disciplines including Assistant Trades Foreman, Assistant General Foreman, Assistant Site Agent, Trainee Site Engineer. |
