Marketing is an important business function that identifies the needs and wants of consumers in order to develop appropriate products and services. Marketing involves researching the market to identify needs, designing the product or service and communicating with consumers through advertising and promotion.
Our Honours Degree in Marketing offers students a specialised education in modern marketing practice. Throughout the programme, students will develop a range of important specialised marketing skills to equip them to work in the areas of branding, international marketing, market research, advertising, public relations, event management and other related areas.
Alongside marketing subjects, students will learn other essential business disciplines such as management, finance, law, communications and information management. This ensures graduates are equipped with a broad understanding of the business environment. In the current economic climate, graduates who possess experience of essential business functions, as well as specialised marketing knowledge are increasingly important to a wide range of sectors.
Leaving Certificate: A minimum of 2 Honours and 4 Passes in six Leaving Certificate subjects, including Mathematics and English/Irish.
FETAC: A full FETAC Level 5 award, including a distinction grade in at least three modules, or a FETAC Level 6 award.
