Excellence Award in Teaching and Learning
Faculty members from Department of Applied Social Sciences LIT receiving A Disciplinary Excellence Award in Teaching, Learning and Assessment (DELTA) from the National Forum For Enhancement of Teaching and Learning at a prestigious awards Ceremony in Dublin’s Mansion House on March 21st.

The Department of Applied Social Science at LIT was recognised by an International Panel of experts for demonstrating excellence, innovation and impact in a range of teaching and learning domains.
These included its focus on Human Capacity Building in all undergraduate degree programmes, Innovative Assessment Practices, Engaging Learning Strategies and the ongoing promotion of Professional Development in Teaching, Learning and Social Science Research.
LIT’s project submission was led by Dr. Michael F. Ryan and team members included: Cathy Jones (Head of Dept), Ger Maughan, Dr.Martin Fitzgerald, Catherine-Ann O’ Connell, Aoife Prendergast and Dr. Matt Cannon. The keynote speaker at the awards ceremony was Minister Mary Mitchell O Connor T.D. who applauded the commitment to innovation and excellence by award nominees. The LIT award was presented by Professor Sarah Moore of the National Forum pictured on the right of photograph.
