Culture Night 2018: Short Film on the River Suir is a Tall Success!

On Friday Sept 21st the arts were celebrated all over Ireland for Culture Night 2018. Two very talented students – Jack Allen and Rachel Ray from the Media & Design Degree in LSAD Clonmel created a short 5 min film called Tales from the Towpath as part of Culture Night. The film captures some of the local history, stories and perhaps even secrets of the River Suir. The filmmaking involved a collaboration of artists, writers, historians and fisher folk from Carrick on Suir, to Kilsheelan and on to Clonmel.

At the film sceenings in both Clonmel and Carrick, there was over 100 people and from the response of the public it was clear… that they wanted more! To see this film please check out: Tales From The Towpath

This project is a collaboration between The Tudor Artisan Hub in Carrick on Suir and Limerick Institute of Technology. Culture Night is brought to you by the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and the Creative Ireland Programme in partnership with Tipperary County Council.
