The SCSI Southern Region held a CPD event in LIT on 25th February 2014 entitled "Revaluation - Processes and Procedures".

This talk was delivered by Patrick Conroy, from the Valuation Office, who is responsible for the revaluation of all commercial property in Limerick, which is currently in progress.

The event was open to valuers from the Southern Region and to LIT students on the Property Valuation and Management programme.

Meanwhile, Catherine Noble, Schools and Colleges Liaison Officer of the SCSI (Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland) visited LIT on 3rd March 2014 to speak to Property Valuation and Management and Quantity Surveying students on student membership of the SCSI which is open to LIT students on these programmes.

She also outlined a number of new initiatives to be implemented to encourage greater involvement of the students within the society. One such initiative is a prize for the best dissertation from SCSI accredited courses in Ireland and the opportunity to have an associated article published in the SCSI journal.
