Centres and Groups

LIT has a wide range of specialised Research and Development Centres and Groups. Development Centres focus on the practical application of knowledge while research centres focus on the generation of new knowledge as well as its transfer to applied settings. Click here for more information on LIT’s Centres and Groups and how to contact them. The key Development Centres are the Centre for Rural and Sustainable Development and the Centre for Food Development.

The Irish SUMP Network

For the past number of years, the Development Unit has been involved in an Intelligent Energy Europe funded project called ENDURANCE. The purpose of which was to create an enduring European wide network to enhance Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning (SUMP) and LIT has agreed to host the SUMP Network in Ireland.
