LIT students are actively encouraged to get involved in
sporting and cultural activities. Involvement in sports complements and balances academic life and gives you the opportunity to make lifelong friendships; while the opportunity to try a new sport is at your fingertips – have fun, relax and meet new people. As a student at LIT, you can take part in competitive or non-competitive, internal or inter-college events. We have state-of-the-art sports facilities, indoors and outdoors, including three full size pitches and an all-weather playing pitch. We also have a fitness centre and indoor sports hall.

LIT Bursaries

The Bursary scheme allows learners, who have accepted a programme in LIT and who are at the forefront in their chosen sport, to apply for some financial support. LIT gave 14 bursaries in 2010/2011. This number included 7 bursaries from LIT itself as well as 7 bursaries from the Munster Council of the GAA. Both the LIT bursaries and the Munster Council GAA Bursaries are not just for elite players, but are also open to individuals who took on coaching and administrative roles IN ALL CLUBS within their chosen sport. This is a scheme which we hope to develop on an annual basis going forward.
