Mentoring Support & Guidance
TUS is committed to a mentoring system which ensures every first year at the Institute is provided with access to a Mentor. In consultation with the Access Office, each School/Department makes arrangements for the allocation of students to mentors.
Students will have contact with their Mentor in the early weeks of their programme. The student’s mentor is often a first point of contact for any difficulty (personal or academic) experienced by the student during their time at the Institute. The mentor will respond when informed of any relevant personal needs experienced by the student and where appropriate will refer the student to relevant specialist services (internal or external). The mentor is available to support the student throughout his/her academic life at the Institute.
Mentoring at the Institute positively supports student progression and contributes to an enhanced learning environment and encourages students in reaching their full potential.
