IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION FOR 1ST YEARS 

 

ACCESS  TO THE  1st YEAR PRE-ARRIVAL DAY HERE - TUS | TUS Midwest Induction Programme (lit.ie)

 

Welcome to TUS Midwest and to your 1st Year Induction Programme - 'Connect and Engage 2023-2024'.

Prior to commencing on campus on the 18th September,  First Year Students are requested to attend an online TUS | TUS Midwest Induction Programme (lit.ie)

Access will be LIVE on our website each day and the link will also be sent to you via email on Tuesday, September 12th. 

The Pre-Arrival Induction will be delivered via Microsoft Office Teams, therefore please download MS Teams in advance. All links will be activated prior to the scheduled events.

Students are asked to ensure availability from 10am to 4pm, on the respective date below for your Faculty: -

- 14th September 2023 - Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment  /  Faculty of Applied Science& Technology - TUS | TUS Midwest Induction Programme (lit.ie)  

- 15th September 2023 -   Faculty of Business and Humanities   /     School of Art and Design - TUS | TUS Midwest Induction Programme (lit.ie) - will be visabile on website the evening prior to event.

Following your arrival on campus, you are invited to engage through workshops, meet and greet sessions, information seminars/webinars, and awareness building, promotion both in person and online. TUS Midwest Connect and Engage is a  7 week induction programme. ​

Once you arrive on campus the “Connect and Engage” programme will support your transition to third level. Together with our on-campus Student Leaders, the programme will furnish you with the opportunity to actively engage in college life, get to grips with your course, join a club or society and develop a personal toolkit to live a healthy and balanced college experience. The schedule of events will be posted on social media and via email with the following themed weeks: -

  • Get Connected
  • Financial Fitness
  • Mind Your Health
  • Mental Health Matters
  • Boosting Academic Success
  • Community and Culture

 

During the first semester, induction and orientation activities will take place on our Midwest Campuses and will be advertised on our social media outlets and to yur student email. The Programme is specifically designed to provide students with the necessary support and guidance, to enhance their college experience.

The 7 week Connect and Engage programme continues right through to October 27th and includes a timetable of events incorporating a blended model of delivery. The Connect and Engage Induction and Orientation Programme supports students’ transition to and retention in third level. You will be invited to engage through workshops, meet and greet sessions, information seminars/webinars, and awareness building, promotion both in person and online, coupled with on-campus Student Leader support. 

Together with on-campus Student Leaders, this programme provides students with the opportunity to actively engage in college life, get to grips with their course, join a club or society, become a volunteer and develop a personal toolkit to live a healthy balanced and enjoyable lifestyle.Whether you are a returning student or a first year beginning your 3rd level journey, you can rest assured that you are joining a community who are welcoming and supportive. We understand commencing college life each academic year can be challenging and we are here for you! TUS has developed a whole range of supports to help you get off to a flying start and enable your transition towards a positive student experience.

The 7 week Connect and Engage Induction and Orientation Programme, includes an array of events and activities ranging from support services to essential information and all created to support students transition to college towards a positive student experience.
