The Computer Services Department (CSD) is responsible for the provision of information and communications technology in the Institute.
Computer Resources
One of the core objectives of the Institute is to ensure that all students are provided with the opportunity to fully experience the many benefits of computer literacy. Computing is a pervasive part of every course and top class computers are provided to enhance the learning experience.
The main concentration of computers is located in the Computer Centre on the Moylish Park campus and the majority of classes in the first two years take place here. Specialist labs are also provided for Degree students on certain courses. Most of the leading software applications found in use in industry are provided for student use.
Open access computing facilities are provided in the libraries, giving students access to many software applications and the Internet. Wireless zones are also located throughout the main campus, allowing students Internet access from their own personal laptops.
User accounts allow students to access the Institute network and also provide each student with an email account which can be used throughout their stay at TUS. Webmail facilities are also provided which means that students can use their Institute email account off-campus and can access it from any computer with Internet access.
