The Certificate in Aviation is Level 6 Special Purpose Award and is an exciting opportunity to explore the world of flight and aviation. It introduces learners to some fundamental aspects of aviation and is delivered by industry professionals and instructors. As part of the course students will have the opportunity to visit a live aircraft maintenance facility and experience a simulated flying lesson in a full scale B737 – 800 NG Flight Simulator.

This course is ideal for those interested in having a foundation knowledge of flight and some of the engineering that makes it possible. Ideal for those considering an aviation career, and also those currently engaged in the industry in non-technical roles, particularly in the aircraft leasing sector.

What are the entry requirements?

Applicants must satisfy a minimum entry requirement of Grade D3 or higher at Ordinary Level in five Leaving Certificate Subjects, or equivalent. Two of these subjects must include Mathematics and a Language (Irish or English).

Course fee is €750
This programme has secured funding under the Aviation Skillnet. Examinations

The student will be required to produce 1 piece of written work as assigned per topic following a period of self-study and using the study material provided.
