Property Valuation and Management is a two year higher certificate programme. The aim of the programme is to provide graduates with the knowledge, skills and competencies required to work as auctioneers, estate agents, letting agents, property managers and property services providers. The programme covers residential and commercial property. The programme meets the minimum educational requirements required to work as a property services provider under the Property Services (Regulation) Act 2011.

What are the entry requirements?

Applicants must have 5 O6/H7 grades or higher at Ordinary Level in 5 Leaving Certificate subjects. Two of these subjects must include Mathematics and a Language (English or Irish). 

Applicants presenting QQI FET/FETAC qualifications must hold a Full Level 5 Award totalling 120 Credits. 

Applicants presenting qualifications other than those mentioned above will be assessed on an individual basis. 

Mature Applicants (i.e. over 23) are exempt from the normal entry requirements.

    This module introduces students to the theoretical concepts associated with Urban Economics. It examines the evolution of the urbanisation of Ireland, observing the similarities and contrasts between Irish urbanisation patterns and those observed in other EU countries. It examines the role of the market in allocating land to various usages within the urban setting. It further explores the spatial theories which assist us in understanding differing regional and national characteristics associated with the urbanisation of Ireland, Students will also be introduced to economic theory which explains pricing and allocation decisions within the property market.
