This Certificate in Change Leadership is a 10 Credit Level 9 programme designed to enable participants to develop their knowledge and skill as creative leaders in their chosen field. The core areas include leadership theory, principles & emerging trends, creativity, the psychology of teams and organisational change.

This programme is primarily for those at work in the business, community and voluntary sector who seek further professional development to progress their career in management or leadership. It is also for those seeking new skills who already have an undergraduate or equivalent qualification. The ideal candidate is someone who wishes to develop their personal and interpersonal capacity to become an effective change agent in their relevant field

What are the entry requirements?

QQI Level 8 award or equivalent qualification and/or relevant life and work experience.

Mature students (23 years of age on 1st January preceding application) can apply.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE: Applicants who do not have English as their first language must ensure they satisfy English Language requirements. For entry to undergraduate courses, a minimum score of 5.5 in an IELTS exam is required. For postgraduate courses, a minimum of 6.0 is required. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure their English proficiency meets these requirements.

Are there opportunities for further study?

An MA in Creative Leadership Practice is in development and will start Sept 2022. The Change Leadership module can be used to apply for a 10-credit exemption for this Postgraduate Diploma/MA programme.

Delivery Mode

This programme will be delivered via blended learning comprising of online sessions and in-house workshops. There is a total of 6 weekends (Saturdays and Sundays). 2 of these weekends are in person/on campus and the other 4 weekends are online.

For 2022, there are 2 cohorts (1 in Clonmel and 1 in Limerick) and here are the dates and times:

Feb 12th and 13th (Clonmel Campus, 10am till 5pm both days)

March 12th and 13th (Online, Sat 10am till 3pm and Sun 10am till 1pm)

April 2nd and 3rd (Online, Sat 10am till 3pm and Sun 10am till 1pm)

April 30th and May 1st (Clonmel Campus, 10am till 5pm both days)

May 21st and 22nd (Online, Sat 10am till 3pm and Sun 10am till 1pm)

June 18th and 19th (Online, Sat 10am till 3pm and Sun 10am till 1pm)

Limerick Change Leadership

Feb 5th and 6th (Limerick Campus, 10am till 5pm both days)

March 5th and 6th (Online, Sat 10am till 3pm and Sun 10am till 1pm)

Assessment/Examinations

3 Continuous Assessments:
A personal change project (individual)
An analysis of leadership skills (in pairs) 
A final team project

Qualification

Certificate in Change Leadership (Special Purpose Award, Level 9, 10 Credits).

Fees

Full course fees: €1,300.

This programme is 90% Springboard funded for employed applicants and 100% Springboard funded for unemployed applicants in 2021. Fee to be paid is €130 by eligible employed applicants.
