Are you thinking of applying to Limerick School of Art and Design (LSAD)? How would you like to create your portfolio and have it scored before you go into your final leaving cert year?

LSAD are now offering a two-week summer programme titled "THINK DRAW MAKE" (Examining the creative processes), that helps you produce your portfolio in the creative environment of LSAD, with all of the teaching expertise, facilities and materials of the college available to you. 

What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal academic entry requirements. This programme is designed for Post-Junior Certificate students who may be interested in pursuing a career in Art & Design at third level. This course is also suitable for those who have completed the leaving certificate, but did not study Art as a Leaving Cert subject, and for mature applicants who may be interested in studying Art & Design at third level.

This course is an intensive portfolio development and production opportunity, which includes a series of one-day blocks in the following areas.

  • Drawings
  • Graphic Design
  • Mixed Media Drawing
  • Drape and Draw (Fashion)
  • Printmaking
  • Textiles
  • Photography
  • Animation
  • Portfolio preparation and upload to slideroom
  • Assessment of portfolios

On completion of the programme, your portfolio will be marked and the score retained for when you make your application to LSAD.

Tuesday 6th June to Friday 16th June 2023 - FULL

Tuesday 4th July to Friday 14th July 2023 - FULL

Week 1: Tuesday to Friday (10.00am to 3.30pm)

Week 2: Monday - Friday (10.00am to 3.30pm)

Classes will be delivered in our Clare Street Campus for 9 days, 5.5 hours per day.

Assessment

Continuous evaluation will take place during the programme with a final assessment on completion. Following the final evaluation, each participant will receive a portfolio score, which will be retained and may be used for applying to LSAD. It will therefore not be necessary for the participant to have their portfolio assessed during the application process. 

Qualification

A TUS Certificate of Completion will be issued to eligible participants. Plus a portfolio score, valid for applying to LSAD.
