  • 99 Coping Skills is a PDF which includes an interactive list of skills and strategies for coping in times of distress.
  • This PDF by Cornell Research Program on Self-Injury and Recovery outlines distraction and alternative coping strategies for those who engage in self-harm.
  • The Calm Harm app was developed for those who struggle to manage stress and emotional arousal. It teaches DBT skills to help regulate emotions and cope in times of distress.
  • My 3 App helps people create safety plans when they are having suicidal thoughts, including defining their network and ways to stay safe.
  • Supports for Suicide and Self-Harm
    • Pieta House provide free counselling to those who engage in self-harm, with suicide ideation, or have been bereaved by suicide. Free phone: 1800 247 247 or Text Help to 51444
    • Free call the Samaritans on 116 123
    • SOSAD provide support those experiencing anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicide ideation, or have been bereaved by suicide. Their 24 hour Helpline is available on 041 984 8754 and their Messaging service is available from 8pm to 12am every day.

  • Connecting for Life is an initiative set out by the HSE and the National Office for Suicide Prevention. The initiative aims to reduce lives lost through suicide, and empower communities and individuals to improve their mental health and wellbeing. You can find out more about the program here.

  • To Write Love on Her Arms is a website that provides support for those struggling with depression, self-harm, suicidal thoughts and addiction.
