Dr Amey Tilak

Project Officer

Dr Tilak currently works in LIT's Development Unit in the area of peatland carbon sequestration.

He previously worked as a Visiting Scientist at the ICRISAT Development Centre, International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), a United Nations organisation located in Hyderabad, India on “Designing and Monitoring Constructed and Floating Wetlands for Wastewater Treatment”.

Dr. Tilak also worked as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at University of Birmingham, UK on Modelling Hydrology of Canadian Peatlands.

He completed his PhD degree from North Carolina State University, USA on “Modelling the Hydrology and Nitrogen Dynamics of Two Riparian Buffers located in Eastern North Carolina”. He completed his Master’s degree from University of Mississippi, USA and and Bachelor’s degree from University of Mumbai, India.

  • Designing constructed and floating wetlands for wastewater treatment
  • Designing and monitoring riparian forest buffers for excessive nitrogen and phosphorus removals 
  • Designing laboratory scale experiments for the attenuation of heavy metals
