Senior Project Assistant
Mick is a hands on energy engineer and thrives in an environment of problem solving.
He would rank returning to education as a mature student in 2010 and achieving a 1.1 degree in Energy Engineering from the Galway Mayo Institute of Education as a major achievement and one that has opened many new doors.
Mick’s passion for sustainable energy, education and problem solving led him to apply for and be successful in joining the LIT Development Unit as a Research Assistant on the Superhomes 2.0 project in 2017 where he conducted research and analysis of the energy performance of Air Source Heat Pumps in residential retrofits. He now holds the position of Senior Project Assistant and works on a number of European and Irish projects.
He is a strong advocate of research and knows that the work the Development Unit is doing can positively influence policy for a greener, fairer and more sustainable future.
