Requests for Access to Records under the Freedom of Information 2014 Act
Making an FOI Request:
An FOI Request can be submitted using the LIT Application Form (see below), or by writing to the FOI Officer by letter or by email. There is no application fee for making an FOI request. If you have any difficulty in preparing your request, please contact the FOI Officer directly.
If you choose to make your request in writing by letter/email please be sure to include the following;
- State clearly that the request for records is being made under the Freedom of Information Act
- Provide as much detail as possible to enable LIT to identify, search for and retrieve (if held) the record(s) sought.
- Provide your name, postal and/or email address and contact telephone number so that we can contact you if necessary to clarify the details of your request.
- Indicate if the information is required in a particular form i.e. by email, photocopy.
If your request is for personal information, we may ask you for documentation to verify your identity in order to ensure that we only release personal records to the correct person.
