LIT Moylish is a 10 minute cycle from Limerick City Centre.

Cycling is a convenient and cheap way of getting around and it makes you feel good.

Good and improving network of cycle routes exist around LIT.

At LIT Moylish there are 80 Bike Parking Spaces.

40 are in the covered Bike shed with the remaining Bike parking areas located nearby, close to buildings with good passing surveillance.

Pump and bike repair tools are available in the Bike Shed.

Access to the secure Bike Shed in Moylish is with a fob. This can be obtained from The Estates Office with a fee of €10.00 which is refundable when the fob is returned.

Registration form to register your bike with Henry Street Garda Station is also available.

Bike Mechanic

A Bike mechanic is available to service your bike from September 14th.

He will attend every fortnight and details will be displayed on the screens throughout the college and on social media.

Offers for Staff - Cycle to Work Scheme
 

This Scheme aims to encourage you to cycle to and from work. Under the scheme your employer can buy a bike and safety equipment for you.

Payment will be made net of PAYE,PRSI & USC as a salary sacrifice .

The Cycle Shop must be on the Office of Government Procurement suppliers list .

Important updates

With the recent Revenue announcement the Cycle to Work Scheme is more beneficial and simpler than ever before.

The following rules now apply:

  • For bicycles and related safety equipment the limit is now €1250.00 – an increase from €1,000.
  • New to the Scheme: pedelecs, ebikes and related safety equipment up to the value of €1,500
  • You can now avail of the Scheme once every four years, compared to the previous limit of five years.
  • The tax year in which the bike is purchased counts as the first year , for example if you joined the scheme during any month in 2016 you can use the scheme again from 1 Jan 2020.
Cycle Challenges for Staff & Students of all cycling abilities

The National Transport Authority runs an annual Smarter Travel Campus cycling event for staff and students in May each years. These are fun team events and it is free to take part! There are also lots of great prizes on offer. Visit www.smartertravelcampus.ie for more information.
