I studied Enterprise & Innovation.

LIT offered me something that universities could never offer, and that was the size of the college itself. In LIT every face you see is a happy one and most importantly, a face you come to recognise. LIT’s long sporting tradition was another massive selection point for me, it almost feels like playing with your club team back home because you feel so welcome, that for me was a massive addition.

Enterprise & Innovation at LIT covers everything along the lines of running your own business. My dream is to one day open my own business. I’m not sure in what yet, but on completing this course I will have a massive head start in achieving my goal when the time comes.

There is a great sense of community in the college, every lecture knows you by name, and you get to know all of your classmates due to the smaller class sizes. It is something that no university could ever offer any student for the simple reason they are just so big. There is also an endless amount of support offered to students here from exam studies, sports scholarships, learning support etc.

For such a small college, it covers an extensive amount of course offerings, which is great because students can be so unsure of what they want to do. LIT is so competitive across so many different sports from soccer, hurling, rugby and basketball. It is great that students have such a variety of sports to choose from.

It is important to remember every student will have their strong and weak points in relation to study, sports and how they learn and obtain information. My advice is to know what is right for you. Choose a course you know that you will be comfortable with and most importantly enjoy. For me enjoyment is the biggest thing, if you are not enjoying what you are doing, well then you won’t be happy.
