TUS is committed to promoting equitable access to and successful participation in higher education for all members of society. Through the work of the TUS Access Service, targeted strategies and initiatives are delivered to facilitate entry to and successful participation in higher education for underrepresented students. The successful realisation of the widening participation agenda also requires that students are able to progress in their academic studies and move into graduate employment. Our counselling services at TUS Midwest allow students time and space in a confidential setting to explore any issues of concern to them. We provide a multi-campus service to Moylish, LSAD, Thurles and Clonmel campuses.
Our counsellors are specially trained to listen attentively and provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment where students have the opportunity to self-reflect and develop. Students can also get advice on where to find additional support and plan how best to move forward in their life.
If you are interested in meeting with a counsellor in a confidential setting about whatever issues are causing you concern you can contact counselling@lit.ie
The aim of the Student Health Service is to provide a confidential and caring Health Service through Health Promotion and Healthy Lifestyle Awareness and to respond to the needs and concerns of our students.

Young Pavees – Mind Your Nuck! This is new website launched by Pavee Point. This innovative platform offers culturally appropriate information on the social determinants of health which impacts on young Travellers’ mental health – racism, discrimination, drug issues and unemployment – and offers signposting to services. The website was developed in partnership with a range of stakeholders, including young Travellers, HSE staff and mental health voluntary groups, reflecting the importance and value of working collectively together to develop innovative solutions in addressing Traveller health inequalities.
Limerick Youth Service and the HSE’s Midwest Community Healthcare launched the following video in June. Written by and featuring teenagers and young adults within the Travelling Community, the short film highlights the challenges young Travellers face in terms of mental health support, from outside and indeed, within their community.
