Below you will find some useful information regarding Erasmus+ funding.

Erasmus Work Placement

To receive your first 80% Erasmus payment just after you begin your work placement, you will need to return the following documents to us:

  • Certificate of Attendance
  • Learning Agreement, "Before the Mobility" Section
  • Grant Agreement
  • A copy/photo of your EHIC
  • A copy of your health insurance

To receive your second 20%* Erasmus payment after your work placement ends, you will need to return the following documents to us:

  • Certificate of Completion
  • Learning Agreement, "After the Mobility" Section
  • EU Participant Survey (emailed to you by the European Commission)

*Your second payment may not equal 20% if your work dates change between your Certificate of Attendance and Certificate of Completion. Contact erasmus@lit.ie for more information.

Erasmus Study

To receive your first 80% Erasmus payment just after you begin your study abroad period, you will need to return the following documents to us:

  • Certificate of Attendance
  • Learning Agreement, "Before the Mobility" Section
  • Grant Agreement
  • A copy/photo of your EHIC
  • A copy of your health insurance

To receive your second 20%* Erasmus payment after your study ends, you will need to return the following documents to us:

  • Certificate of Completion
  • Transcript of Records
  • EU Participant Survey (emailed to you by the European Commission)

*Your second payment may not equal 20% if your study dates change between your Certificate of Attendance and Certificate of Completion. Contact erasmus@lit.ie for more information.

The Erasmus Grant Amounts for the 2020/21 Academic Year are as follows:

  • The countries in Group 1 are: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Luxembourg, Sweden, United Kingdom, Liechtenstein, Norway
  • The countries in Group 2 are: Austria, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Spain, Cyprus, Netherlands, Malta, Portugal
  • The countries in Group 3 are: Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Republic of North Macedonia, Turkey, Serbia

Erasmus Grant Amounts are set by the Higher Education Authority of Ireland, in conjunction with the European Commission. Grant amounts may increase or decrease in future academic years.

Student payments are carried out by LIT's Finance Office on a monthly basis. Failure to submit your documents in a timely manner will delay your Erasmus payment.
