In addition to meeting the Leaving Certificate/QQI FET/FETAC and Mature Student entry requirements, applicants to the BSc. (Hons) in Game Art & Design and the BSc. (Hons) in Visual Effects for Film, TV & Animation must also pass either a traditional portfolio assessment or the 3D Portfolio Project outlined below. It is important to note that applicants have a choice of doing one or the other and both are marked out of 600.
The traditional portfolio assessment comprises of an applicant submitting a portfolio of art and/or design work either in physical format or digitally. More information on this option is available here and information on how to submit your portfolio online is available at https://lit.ie/onlineportfolio.
The 3D Portfolio Project is in recognition of the knowledge, skills and design expertise many post-primary students acquire while studying Design and Communication Graphics (DCG) and similar subjects. As such, the 3D Portfolio Project brief invites applicants to “re-imagine and re-design any real-world modern-day functional object” using 3D modelling software such as Solidworks. All project submissions must be made online at https://lit.ie/onlineportfolio.
The 3D Project Portfolio must be submitted online at https://lit.ie/onlineportfolio before:
