Now in its 11th year this year’s festival New Futures, New Adventures in Learning will take place online from Monday May 24 to Sunday May 30, 2021.

Using live-streamed events, panel discussions, interactive webinar workshops, and pre-recorded learning sessions, the Festival boasts a diverse range of topics including: Technology, Art, Wellbeing, Gardening, Cooking, Language Taster Sessions, Mindful Walking, Coding for Kids, The Workplace of 2030, and even Adventures with Chicken Pizza.

As one of the key festival partners, Head of Flexible Learning at LIT, Dr Philip Hennessy, indicated the importance of celebrating lifelong learning and Limerick as a UNESCO Learning City-Region.

“Limerick’s Lifelong Learning Festival gives everyone the opportunity to celebrate and promote learning across the mid-west region. It showcases Limerick as a vibrant and proud learning city with endless possibilities when it comes to further education, lifelong learning and upskilling. Limerick has a strong culture of working together for the betterment of the region and the Lifelong Learning Festival is a wonderful example of this culture.

“Flexible Learning LIT are delighted to play our part again this year and we are looking forward to hosting a number of virtual events during festival week. These events come from across the institute and represent the diversity and strength of LIT,” he said.
