Part-Time Work Opportunities

Part-time Work

Non-EEA international students can only take up part-time casual employment in Ireland if they are:

  • Full-time students
  • Fully registered for the entire academic year

Minimum wage for an experienced worker over the age of 18 is €10.10 per hour.

Part-time work means a maximum limit of 20 working hours per week.

Non-EEA international students are able to work full-time during two periods of the year – the traditional summer and winter holidays for academic programmes.

  • Summer: 21 May–31 August
  • Winter: 18 December–8 January
Full-time Work

Full-time work means a maximum limit of 40 working hours per week.

International students who wish to take up work in Ireland must have a Personal Public Services (PPS) number. This is a requirement for both part-time and full-time work.
