Connect and Engage at LIT - 2021/2022

Whether you are a First Year beginning your 3rd level journey or a New Entrant coming to LIT for the first time, you can rest assured that you are joining a community who are welcoming and supportive. We understand commencing college life can be challenging and we are here for you! LIT has developed a whole range of supports to help you get off to a flying start and enable your transition towards a positive student experience.

The Connect and Engage Induction and Orientation Programme supports students’ transition to and retention in third level. Together with on-campus Student Leaders, this programme provides students with the opportunity to actively engage in college life, get to grips with their course, join a club or society, become a volunteer and develop a personal toolkit to live a healthy balanced and enjoyable lifestyle.

The 2021/22 Connect and Engage  Programme of events will take place on the LIT website  We will be uploading useful information for students such as support servives induction videos, links to live Q&A sessions and more.

The Connect and Engage Programme 2021/22 consists of three phases: 

Phase 1 - Progressing/Returning Students

To support you in your transition to this new and exciting academic year you will be invited to attend a timetable of events to assist you with enjoying a positive student experience.  Student Leaders are on campus to help guide you to your class room, answer any questions you may have, and to help you settle in.

Phase 2 - 1st Year Pre-Entry Induction Day

To support you in your transition to this new and exciting academic year, you are requested to attend a virtual pre-entry Induction and Orientation Day. The array of events will be delivered through Microsoft Office Teams.

Phase 3 - 8-Week Connect and Engage Programme

The 8 week Connect and Engage Induction and Orientation Programme, includes an array of events and activities ranging from support services to essential information and all created to support students transition to college towards a positive student experience.
