Limerick Institute of Technology issues three documents online through the Digitary platform:
- Transcripts - a detailed statement of the results a student has achieved during the duration of their studies at LIT;
- Grademailers – an official report of a student’s grades for a specific term;
- European Diploma Supplements – a document issued to all graduates of higher education institutions along with their parchment and transcripts of results.
See below for more information on each document type:
European Diploma Supplements
LIT enables access to your European Diploma Supplement (EDS) via a secure website and a secure, official electronic document system, called Digitary, which uses legally compliant digital signature technologies.
You can login to this service to access and/or share your own official EDS with prospective employers or educational institutions. Any student who graduated from 2005 onwards is eligible to receive one of these documents.
These documents are free of charge and are currently available to all graduates from 2012/13 academic year onwards automatically by logging in as below.
Graduates prior to 2012/13 should contact the Exams Office directly and we can issue your EDS on request.
What is the European Diploma Supplement?
The EDS is issued to graduates of Higher Education Institutions in addition to their degree or certificate. It provides information regarding the award, which is not available on the official parchment such as the skills and competencies acquired, the level of the award you have achieved and the results you have obtained.
What is the purpose of EDS?
It is an important document, which outlines in detail your academic achievement for your award. You may need this document as part of the evidence of your academic record to give to national or international prospective employers, education institutions or for migration purposes.

The EDS DOES NOT replace the official degree parchment or transcript of results and is intended to be used in conjunction with these documents. It does not guarantee recognition of the qualification.
Transcript of Results
A transcript is a detailed statement of examination results you have achieved during the duration of your studies at Limerick Institute of Technology e.g. list of modules completed, grade awarded for each module and overall academic standing.
We can issue a digital transcript of results (free of charge) or a manual transcript of results (fee of €20).
A digital transcript can be issued to students who attended LIT from 2010/11 academic year onwards. This document is issued to you electronically via a secure web portal called Digitary where you can choose to download, print or share with employers or other institutions in a controlled, audited manner.
Should it be available for you to access, the electronic version of your transcript is free of charge.
A manual transcript of results can be issued to students who completed their studies prior to 2005/06 or to any student who requires a hard copy of their results. Contact the Exams Office on 061-293200, at email@example.com or complete the form attached here, to order a manual transcript.
You will be required to provide the following information in order for your request to be processed:
- Name (please specify if name was different at time of study at LIT)
- Current Postal Address
- Student No. (if known)
- Contact Telephone Number
- Email Address
- Date of Birth
- Details of Course(s) Undertaken.
If you wish to request a hard copy of your transcript there is a €20.00 fee – you can pay this by credit or debit card over the phone or in person. Please do not send your credit/debit card details by email.
Normally it will take 2-3 working days to process the transcript, and longer during exam periods.
All hard copies of transcripts are printed on LIT headed paper and are verified, signed and stamped by Examinations Office staff.
Result Letters (Grademailers)
A result letter (grademailer) is an official report of a student’s grades for a specific term or exam session. Result letters have been issued automatically to all students for each exam session since summer 2015. Students have the option to download or share these documents immediately with other educational institutions or employers. If your result letter is not available when you log in to Digitary, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 061-293200 to request this.
How can I access these documents?

In order to view the documents you will need to have Adobe Reader installed on the device that you are using.
