Application Process for International Students

International applicants should apply directly to the International Office at LIT allowing plenty of time for completing the visa process. Applications for September start should be made by June 1st at the latest to ensure visas are processed in time. You should familiarise yourself with visa processing times for your country of origin to ensure you make a timely application.

Previous Qualifications & Academic Results

If you are looking to gain advanced entry into a course transcripts from any previous courses you participated in are required. For first year entry, evidence of your highest level of education achieved is required.

English Language Testing Score

For entry to undergraduate courses a minimum score of 5.5 in an IELTS exam is required. For postgraduate courses, a minimum of 6.0 is needed.

A note for 2020 Applications:

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic faced around the world, we appreciate that new students are encountering difficulties in undertaking English language tests.

We are pleased to advise that both the Irish Visa Authorities and LIT’s Office of International Services will be accepting English language test results from IELTS, TOEFL and Duolingo English Test for 2020 applications only

The minimum English language score required for 2020 applications is as follows:

Advanced Entry Undergraduate (Year 2, 3 or 4)  6.0  68-80  95-100
