ENGAGE Event Schedule

Engage at LIT

The LIT ENGAGE Programme supports students’ transition to and retention in third level. Together with on-campus Student Leaders this programme provides students with the opportunity to actively engage in college life, get to grips with their course, join a club or society, become a volunteer and develop a personal toolkit to live a healthy balanced and enjoyable lifestyle.

The 2020 LIT ENGAGE Programme of events will take place online. Throughout the next ten weeks we will be uploading useful information for students such as induction videos, links to live Q&A sessions and more.

If you miss a particular live event don't worry! We will make sure to uploaded recordings of all live events in the relevant week below.

  • Weeks 1 & 2 - September 14th - 25th - Welcome Back!

    Meet your Student Union representatives today at 12:30pm by following this link. This is for students attending Moylish and LSAD Campuses, events for the Tipperary and Ennis campuses will be announced in the coming weeks. 

    Wednesday 16th September - 1pm-2pm

    The LIT Counselling team are inviting you to drop in online and say hello today, Wednesday 16th September from 1 until 2pm. They are here to help and support you navigate any challenges you may experience. 

    You can log in using this link , using your student registration number. They will also have a questions and answers section where you can raise your hand if you have any query, you can do this anonymously.

    Students are encouraged to get involved in the multiple Clubs and Societies available to them and encouraged to set up their own club/society.

    Did you know that every single student registered at LIT can avail of the Erasmus programme as part of their LIT studies?     Our sports clubs cater for all levels of activity and you can get involved at your own pace, whether you are an elite athlete, a beginner or just looking to get fit and have some fun! Clubs and activities include Hurling, Camogie, Men’s & Ladies Gaelic Football, Men’s and Ladies Rugby, Soccer, Boxing, Judo, Weightlifting, Basketball and the ever popular Outdoor Club as well as activities such as Aerobics and Circuit Training,

    Academic Support:

    The Learning Support Unit helps students to master the new academic skills and self-directed learning. Workshops include academic writing, mathematics, researching, studying, note- taking, exam revision and a general, focus on learning support in all manners of academic advancement. https://lit.ie/learning-support

    Careers and Employability:

    The Careers and Employability Service Centre provides students and recent graduates of LIT with support and advice on Careers, Employability Skills and Work Placement.

     Mental Health Awareness Campaign:

    Student Counselling Service

    LIT offers a free, confidential and professional counselling service. Our counsellors will offer you space, a listening ear and non-judgemental understanding, whether it’s a personal crisis, academic or personal issue you wish to deal with.   • Week 9 - November 9th - 13th
    Student Volunteering:

    The GIVE (Guided Initiative in Voluntary Engagement) project encourages students to engage in voluntary activities, and benefits both the community and the volunteers by combining a service experience with a learning and development experience.
